Academic Cooperation Protocol Signed Between CIU and CTU
The Faculty of Fine Arts, Design and Architecture at Cyprus International University (CIU) and the Faculty of Civil Engineering at Czech Technical University (CTU) in Prague have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen academic cooperation. The protocol was signed by Prof. Dr. Cemil Atakara, Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts, Design and Architecture from at CIU, and Prof. Dr. Jiří Mača, Dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering at CTU. This agreement paves the way for joint activities in education, research, and cultural exchange between the two prestigious institutions of higher education.
As part of the collaboration, interdisciplinary research in the field of applied psychology in architecture will be encouraged, and joint participation and organization of the international INSPIRELI AWARDS competition is planned. In addition, mutual academic staff and student exchange programs will be conducted, with the aims of developing joint educational projects, conducting research activities, and doing scientific publications. Sharing of educational materials, research outputs, and new technologies will also be key components of the partnership.
The protocol will allow academic staff to teach, conduct research, and participate in professional development activities at the host university within the framework of short-term exchange programs. Student exchanges will take place at undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral levels for both cultural and academic purposes.
Furthermore, efforts will be supported to develop joint research projects, ensure reciprocal access to laboratories for researchers, and strengthen collaboration particularly at the doctoral level. Intellectual property rights, funding, and project specifications related to the collaborative initiatives will be regulated through separate written agreements.
