Quality Vision
About
The Cyprus International University Quality Commission and its affiliated Quality Committee were established to develop and ensure the continuity of quality assurance systems covering education and training, research activities, and administrative services; to evaluate and approve quality enhancement activities through internal and external evaluation processes; and to ensure that quality is embraced as part of the institutional culture.
Adopting a participatory approach as a core principle, the CIU Quality Commission is chaired by the Rector and consists of the Secretary General, the Director of Student Affairs, the Chair of the Academic Evaluation and Advisory Commission (ADDK), the Director of the International Office, five members appointed by the Senate, and two student representatives, one of whom is an international student.

To promote a student-centered educational institutional culture through the participation of all stakeholders in the quality assurance and improvement of education, management, research, and student support services and activities.

Quality Strategy
To systematically prioritize areas for improvement in the provision of student-centered education and services, and to take the necessary measures in light of continuous stakeholder feedback and quality assurance activities.
1. To establish the University’s internal and external quality assurance system for the evaluation and improvement of the quality of education and teaching, research activities, and administrative services in line with the University’s objectives.
2. To identify, develop, and update institutional indicators.
3. To ensure the implementation of preliminary evaluation procedures for institutional internal and external evaluations.
4. To ensure that units are informed and provided with training on internal and external evaluation criteria and methods.
5. To evaluate the work schedules of the units, monitor the functioning of the quality system, and submit these activities to the Senate for approval.
6. To prepare and submit to the relevant parties reports on improving areas identified as requiring improvement based on analyses conducted to enhance the quality and efficiency of the University and to ensure the renewal of the University.
7. To carry out internal evaluation activities; prepare, review, and submit to the Rectorate and the Senate an annual institutional evaluation report containing the results of institutional evaluation and quality improvement activities; prepare summary feedback reports; and ensure that the approved annual institutional evaluation report is shared through appropriate channels.
8. To support the preparation of external evaluation reports and to review and evaluate such reports.
9. The Commission may delegate some or all of the duties and responsibilities specified in the Cyprus International University Quality Commission and Quality Committee Working Procedures and Principles Directive to the Quality Committee. The Commission may take back the delegated duties and responsibilities at any time.
