CIU Career Days Concluded with Strong Participation

The “Career Days and Career Fair” organized by Cyprus International University under the theme “Adapting to Change, Competence, and Courage in the Age of Uncertainty” brought students together with professionals from different sectors, company representatives, academics, and experts. Through the sessions and career fair held during the three-day event, the aim was to help students prepare for professional life after graduation, establish direct communication with industry representatives, and gain access to internship and employment opportunities.

Speaking at the opening of the event moderated by CIU Career and Alumni Center Coordinator Berna Ozansoy, CIU Rector Prof. Dr. Erbuğ Çelebi stated that Career Days has been one of the university’s significant organizations since its establishment and emphasized that the career fair serves as an important platform connecting students directly with industry representatives. Çelebi highlighted that artificial intelligence and digital transformation are reshaping the boundaries of professions and stressed the importance of students adapting to technological transformation throughout their career journeys.

During the sessions organized as part of the event, current topics such as multidisciplinary career models, the effects of artificial intelligence on the business world, digital transformation, professional development, career planning, and recruitment processes were discussed. Experts in their respective fields met with students and shared their professional experiences and evaluations of their sectors.

As part of the program, Dr. Münevver Serdaroğulları, Sena Kaya, Dietitian/Author Güneş Aksüs, Dietitian Seren Aksüs, Donald Aquilina, Sabit Akkaya, Ahmet Burçin Gürbüz, Zehra Karaoğlan, Selçuk Şenol, Prof. Dr. Emine Alp Meşe, and Dr. Emel Gümüş met with students. The presentations addressed topics including the relationship between technology and ethics, career transformation in the age of artificial intelligence, multidisciplinary career structures, professional development processes, sector expectations, and evolving competency areas in the business world.

At the career fair organized within the scope of Career Days, institutions and organizations from various sectors set up booths and held one-on-one meetings with students. Students had the opportunity to communicate directly with company representatives, share their résumés, and obtain information about internship and employment opportunities. Throughout the event, the connections established aimed to contribute to students’ professional networking and career planning.

In line with CIU’s student-centered educational approach, the organization aims to support students in becoming better prepared for the business world by combining their academic knowledge with sector experience.
